If you're like us, some of your meetings are hastily added. We can take "Lunch with Brian at Boka Brewhouse" and magically figure out who Brian is and where Boka is for 1-touch communication and mapping.
We give you the best 1-touch options for SMS & email if you're early or running late:
If your calendar event has a location in the invite, we'll give you 1-click turn-by-turn directions to that location.
If your event doesn't have a location, no problem. We'll give you 1-click ability to search for any location mentioned in the event title ("Lunch with Alex at Fado Pub").
Worst case, we'll fall back on any addresses you might have for the organizer/attendees of the meeting.
Q. What calendars does TouchBase Calendar work with?
A. We work seamlessly with the iPhone's native calendar app. Any changes made to the default calendar will be reflected in TouchBase Calendar... In short, if it works with your iPhone, it works for us! At present the iPhone plays nicely with Google Calendar, MobileMe, Microsoft Outlook, Exchange ActiveSync, Yahoo! Calendar, iCal, and CalDAV.
Q. Hey! Not cool! Why isn't TouchBase Calendar available in non-english-speaking app stores?
A. Part of what we do is allow you to send canned messages to folks when you're running late, want to confirm the place/time, when you've showed up and are looking for your meeting buddies, etc... All with just 1-tap! Which we think is pretty cool unless it is sending a message in a language that your meeting buddies don't understand (english!). We'll be working on non-english versions ASAP.
Q. Is this meant to replace the native iPhone calendar?
A. It certainly has for us. TouchBase Calendar provides a list view of your events, just like the iPhone calendar and also allows the same ability to add/edit events. You might want to keep your iPhone calendar around if you really like/use the month view a lot, as TouchBase doesn't offer that.
Q. Will you be releasing TouchBase Calendar for Android? How about Windows Phones?
A. We're working on an Android version. If you'd like us to let you know when we release it, you can get on our Android invite list. We've got no plans to do a version for Windows Phone, but we're keeping an eye on things there.
Q. I noticed that messages sent from TouchBase have a "Sent with Touchbasecal.com" after each message. Can I change that?
A. You sure can. Just open up the settings (click on the "day"" button in the upper left hand corner of any event, and then click "settings") and you'll see the signature setting that you can adjust.
Q. What's the best way for me to make sure TouchBase Calendar knows who to contact?
A. The most reliable way is to make sure that meeting guest are overtly included and in your iPhone address book. If john@smith.com is an invitee, and you have that email address on your phone, we're golden. If there are no invitees, we'll do our best to connect the dots. A meeting called "Lunch with Sammy at Cafe Nola" will allow you 1-touch communication with Sammy, assuming you have a Sammy in your address book. If you have *2* Sammys in your address book, we'll let you choose... But you'd be better off saying "Lunch with Sammy L. at Cafe Nola".
Q. What's the best way for me to make sure TouchBase Calendar knows where my meeting is?
A. The reliable thing you can do is have a location for your event with a full address. But we'll do our best to figure out the location where we can. For example, an event called "Lunch with Sammy at Cafe Nola", we'll do a Google Maps search for Cafe Nola and give you our best guess.
